On his death in 1943, the house passed to his daughter, Xilpha Irene Hicks Jones, who lived there until her death in 1982. She bequeathed the house to the First Presbyterian Church. The church then sold it to local businessman Tom Wolf, who painstakingly restored it to house his offices. (ref: Jim Casto) The Campbell Hicks House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. It is an example of the Free Classic style in the Queen Anne period and features a slender 2 story cantilevered rounded tower. The full front porch has a 5 sets of paired fluted columns with iconic capitals. The property has an original Vermont slate roof.
